We offer our clients hosting on a managed WordPress hosting system. This is a robust, world-class infrastructure architected with a best-in-class level of performance, uptime, and redundancy. It makes use of advanced caching and content delivery network systems in order to maintain the highest levels of speed and performance.
WordPress, our framework, and the plugins we use to add extra features to the site go through regular, sometimes frequent, updates to code. Some of these updates add more functionality or enhance the user interface; often these updates also contain patches for security vulnerabilities or unstable code. We employ a system that regularly checks your site for available updates, check them for possible conflicts with your site, then run the updates to ensure that your site is up-to-date and secure. Critical security updates are handled immediately and in many cases automatically.
Every site is deployed across our CDN and is encrypted via SSL. Higher traffic sites are also routed through CloudFlare for extra speed and security. All of these features enhance SEO.
In addition to ensuring the WordPress environment is kept up-to-date, we take several steps to maintain the integrity of your data. Best practices for WordPress continue to evolve with the platform; we keep abreast of these changes and implement them on all of our client sites as we determine them to be necessary and stable. Every site is backed up daily, and manual backups are made before every major code update. Because we are accepting this responsibility, if your site is hacked or compromised in some way, we will restore your site to operability as soon as possible.
We regularly monitor security bulletins and employ best practices for speed and maximum uptime, tweaking our client sites to maintain peak performance. We do not believe in set-it-and-forget-it hosting.
Third-party Software Licenses
When we build your WordPress site, we make use of several third-party plugins to add capabilities to your site. For these plugins we pay annual fees. Your hosting+maintenance contract helps us stay current with these licensing fees. If you choose to move your site at a later date, we will advise you as to which of these plugins you will need to purchase your own license for as allowing you to continue using our license would put us in violation of our licensing agreements with these vendors.
Our WordPress Hosting+Maintenance accounts cost $65/month per hosted site and are billed annually. Your hosting term begins the day you sign this contract and will renew automatically on the same date annually unless we receive notice within 15 days of that renewal date. We’ll send you a renewal invoice 15 days before the end of your current term. Payment is due immediately upon receipt.
In order to maintain the integrity of our server and the security of all of the sites we host, we do not offer WordPress hosting on our servers without a maintenance agreement in place.
